Spring 2!

Our topic this half term is -

Where in the World?

This half term, we will be exploring a number of different Countries and Continents around the world!

We will learn about the different cultures, languages, foods, festivals and  landmarks of a number of different Countries.

We will learn how to write facts and simple sentences. How to use bullet points and create a fact file.

We will learn a number of different phrases in different languages, to count to 10 and day hello and goodbye!

We will create junk models of different landmarks and learn new songs from around the world.

During our maths sessions we will be exploring numbers to 10. We will learn how to count, subitise and develop our knowledge of the composition of numbers.

Please continue to practice number bonds to 5 at home.

During our PE sessions we will be working with a dance coach to learn a sequence of moves and eventually a short routine which we will perform to the whole school.

As always we will be working together to develop our PSED skills, sharing, turn taking and taking care of one another. We will also embed our class virtue - Kindness.

Again outdoor learning will be at the centre of our curriculum where we will continue to explore and build upon our imagination, gross and fine motor, oracy, number and PSED skills. Alongside developing a love for the outdoors and getting to know and understand the world in which we live.

Please ensure you read with your child as often as possible. Reading books are sent home weekly and should be returned on your allocated day. Please keep reading books in book bags and ensure they are signed,

Please download the Tapestry app and make sure you have registered to receive updates on your child's progress.

Our door is always open and we are always happy to meet, chat and listen to parents. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any help or support.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mrs Rigby, Mrs McDermott, Miss Williams and Miss Spencer.
